Bachcha Grey was eight years old when he arrived in the foreign Alien World, called by the locals, the United States of America.

Since Bachcha Grey was a stowaway on the Alien Cargo Ship he fled the ship. Bachcha found himself in an entirely new economic system. The ground was hard and grey with white lines paint a upon the ground. Big and small metal animals carrying people inside their bellies travel among the grey ground. Young Bachcha was amazed and inspired by the Alien World.

Bachcha was later under arrested for attempted to steal a hot dog from a hot dog vendor. Chief Grey explained more in the Written Life of Sentinelese Chief Mark Grey. "The police realized I could not speak English when they asked me what I was wearing. As for stealing the hotdog, I was hungry and everyone else was eating the hotdogs" (Grey 19) Bachcha was then sent to an orphanage where he was adopted by Mark and Aviya Bethany.

The couple adopted Bachcha and raised him as their own. Mark and Aviya Bethany paid for tutors to help Bachcha learn about the language spoken in the USA, how to do math, how to read, and write. Bachcha was homeschooled until the age of ten when he was ready to go public middle school. Bachcha went to Philippa Schuyler Middle School in New York City.

When arriving at school Bachcha realized that the other children had trouble pronouncing his name correctly. Bachcha later decided to be called Mark, by his peers because the name was easy to pronounce, The name came from his adopted father, Mark Bethany. Since that day Bachcha Grey know goes by Mark Grey. "I never had an intend for Mark to replace my birth name. No, no, no! I was born Bachcha Grey and I can not change who I was born to be. I only wished to be called Mark because my adopted father was named Mark, and the name links me to the modern world" explained Chief Mark Grey (Grey 14)
